Terra Ceia Preserve (also known as Frog Creek and Terra Ceia Preserve State Park) is a 1,932-acre (7.82 km 2) preserve located in Manatee County, Florida north of Palmetto. The preserve is maintained and co-owned by Southwest Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). [1] [2]

On 19 August 2024 the Florida Department of Environmental Protection announced plans [21] to build golf courses and 350-room lodges on state park lands. [22]In statements to the Tampa Bay Times and in posts to social media, the agency claimed that the construction of a golf course on vulnerable scrub habitat will be done in a way to "minimize habitat impacts".

Excavations at Manatee Spring Park have revealed that the Indian village was heavily populated throughout history. Fragments of pottery, bone awls, and arrowheads, mostly including materials from the Weeden Island period.
Terra Ceia is an unincorporated community in Manatee County, Florida, United States that includes the 1,932 acres (7.82 km 2) Terra Ceia Preserve. [4] It is located on Terra Ceia Island near the Southern shore of Tampa Bay near the intersection of US 19 and I-275, at the southern end of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.
On Snead Island, it runs along 13th Street West. [3] Previously part of SR 43, it is essentially the western extension of SR 43, which is the hidden designation for US 301 north of Palmetto. [6] The county maintains 10th Street West from 8th Avenue West to Snead Island. From 28th Avenue to US 41 Business, it is maintained by the city of Palmetto.
