In 2010, Reinhardt University's Drew Tyson became the first baseball player drafted by the Oakland Athletics, in the 17th round of the MLB draft. In 2014, Reinhardt was invited to the NAIA Men's basketball national tournament for the first time since 2004, when the team won a conference championship for the second consecutive year.

The Lancaster Stormers was originally owned by Opening Day Partners (ODP), a company that specializes in baseball club and stadium operations. ODP also created Atlantic League clubs in York, Pennsylvania, Southern Maryland, and Sugar Land, Texas. On November 12, 2014, ODP transitioned its ownership of the Stormers to Lancaster Baseball, LLC.

Carlisle finished in third place when the 1896 Cumberland Valley League folded. The Colts ended the season with a 14–23 record, finishing 11.5 games behind the first place Hagerstown Lions in the final league standings. [5] In 1904, the Carlisle team resumed minor league play as members of the Independent level Pennsylvania League. [6] [7]
