SPI Secondary was founded in 1899 by Father Catesson of the Paris Foreign Missions Society in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. [citation needed] Its aim was to provide an English education to "The boys of Seremban and its outstations". St Paul's School, as it was then called, was the first English school in Negeri Sembilan.
SMK Puteri was built to replace the old and SMK Convent building. A plot of land near Taman AST was chosen to build a new school. On 8 July 1993, ground breaking ceremony was done by Menteri Besar Mohd Isa Samad.
The college became formally known as Kolej MARA Seremban on 3 February 1994. In 2000, The UKM Matriculation Programme was abolished to make way for the Malaysian Education Ministry Matriculation Programme. This change was made as the Ministry of Education Malaysia took over all matriculation programmes in the country to unify the curriculum.
