Founded in 1979, SLPA currently operates ports in Colombo, Galle, Hambantota, Kankesanthurai, Oluvil, Point Pedro and Trincomalee. [2] As of 31 March 2013 SLPA had a 3% stake in Colombo Dockyard. [3]
The McCallum Lock Gates comprise a bridge over a set of lock gates connecting East Beira Lake and the Colombo Harbour. Built between 1951 and 1956 by the Colombo Public Works Department to facilitate barge traffic between ships docked in the harbour and ports on the Kalani river. The bridge connected the Fort to the D.R. Wijewardena Mawatha. [1]
The Deduru Oya Dam is an embankment dam built across the Deduru River in Kurunegala District of Sri Lanka. Built in 2014, the primary purpose of the dam is to retain for irrigation purposes approximately a billion cubic metres of water, which would otherwise flow out to sea. Site studies of the dam began in 2006 and construction started in 2008.
Batticaloa Gate is monument, which was used as port to connect Puliyanthivu (island) with the mainland of Batticaloa, Sri Lanka. The place believed as landing site of Rev. William Ault, who was the first Methodist missionary to Batticaloa, in 1814. [1] His statue can be seen closer to the Batticaloa Gate. [2]

Ceylon Grain Elevators agreed to pay the Government of Sri Lanka LKR115 million as part of the out-of-court settlement agreement in 2012. Sri Lanka Customs fined the company for LKR1.17 billion alleging the company violated the customs law. The two parties agreed to a settlement after negotiations, without the company conceding any legal liability.
