Matheus Kristof Shikongo (26 June 1950 – 13 May 2021) was a Namibian politician and businessman. A member of SWAPO, Shikongo was the mayor of Windhoek, Namibia's capital, in 1993 and from 2000 to 2010.

Sade Gawanas is a Namibian politician who has served as mayor of Windhoek since 1 December 2021 till 19 January 2023, as her deputy took over. Previously, she was elected into the council of the City of Windhoek following the 2020 local elections. She is from the Landless People's Movement. [1] [2] [3]
As mayor, Trepper successfully lobbied the national government for funds to connect several of Windhoek's informal settlements in the Tobias Hainyeko Constituency to the electrical grid, saying at the time that Windhoek officials "publicly declare our intention to reverse years of neglect and suffering in the low cost area".
