A District (Albanian: Qark or Rajon; Serbian: Округ / Okrug or Дистрикт / Distrikt, or Регион / Region) is the highest level of administrative divisions of Kosovo. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] The districts of Kosovo are based on the 2000 Reform of the UNMIK -Administration.

Kosovo's municipalities. A municipality (Albanian: komuna; Serbian: општина / opština) is the basic administrative division in Kosovo and constitutes the only level of power in local governance. [1] There are 38 municipalities in Kosovo; 27 of which have an Albanian ethnic majority, 10 Serb and 1 Turkish.
Under the Serbian system of administration, Kosovo is divided into five districts comprising 28 municipalities and 1 city.
