Rasbora is a genus of fish in the family Danionidae. [1] They are native to freshwater habitats in South and Southeast Asia, as well as southeast China. It grows to be about 10–20mm (0.4–0.8 inches) long at adulthood, the maximum length can reach 25mm (1 inches). Dwarf Rasbora are shoaling fish which means they are always in groups of 8 fish or more.
Rasbora sarawakensis males reach a maximum standard length of 4.5 cm. [2] It is a relatively stout bodied Rasbora with a large, pointed head. It has a golden ground colour with orange fins and blue longitudinal stripe. [3] The less colourful females are normally larger and more pot-bellied than the more highly coloured males.
