The club was established on 28 September 1894. A group of wealthy businessmen from Renfrew and Govan held a meeting and subsequently leased land from Speirs of Elderslie Estates. The course was opened on 22 October 1894 by Andrew Brown, Provost of Renfrew.

ClubLink is the largest owner and operator of golf courses in Canada. [1] It is based in King City, Ontario. It was founded in 1993 by entrepreneur Bruce Simmonds and co-founded by Paul Simmonds. [2] Its headquarters is located at the King Valley Golf Club. [3] ClubLink owns the White Pass and Yukon Route, a Canadian-American railway.
Sand Point is a community in the township of McNab/Braeside, Ontario, Canada, along the Ottawa River, roughly six miles to the west of Arnprior on the River Road. In September 1865 an extension of the Brockville and Ottawa Railway opened to Sand Point making it the terminus.
In 1946 the name of the country club was changed from The Royal York Golf Club to St. George's Golf and Country Club as a result of the financial arrangement with the Canadian Pacific Railway (of which Beatty was president) ending. The club has been rated several times in the top three of Canada and amongst the top 100 in the world [1]
Lambton Golf and Country Club has hosted several major events in its history, including the Canadian Opens, and the Canadian Amateurs. The golf club has hosted both tournaments on four occasions. The golf club was a former rota course of the Canadian Open, hosting the tournament in 1907, 1910, 1925, and 1941.
Funding continued as a fee per club until 1948, when the RCGA instituted the dollar a year plan. The concept was that each golf club would remit $1.00 for each male member (after having collected from the member in their annual dues). $0.50 was to go to the RCGA and the same amount would be remitted to the appropriated provincial association.
The club was founded by Harvey Kalef, Gil Blechman and Irv Hennick. [4] The golf course was designed by George Fazio and Tom Fazio. [4] Construction began on May 15, 1973 and the course officially opened in 1975. [4] The club's first professional was Ken Venturi, a retired professional golfer and later a commentator for CBS Sports. [2]
