According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 35.8 square miles (92.7 km 2), of which, 35.8 square miles (92.7 km 2) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 km 2) of it (0.06%) is water. The former unincorporated community of Greenville and the ghost town of Wakefield are located in the village.
The town was founded in 1848 as Greenville Station, and changed its name to Becker in 1879 (named after the first postmaster). Its name was changed to Greenville in 1896. [ 3 ] The town and unincorporated community were incorporated into the Village of Greenville in 2021.

The Hortonville Area School District (HASD) is a school district in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It serves the communities of Hortonville and Greenville, and parts of Center, Dale, Ellington, Grand Chute, Hortonia, and Liberty. As of 2012, the district enrollment was 3,555. [1] The district maintains six school buildings on three campuses.
