Urdu literature (Urdu: ادبیاتِ اُردُو, “Adbiyāt-i Urdū”) comprises the literary works, written in the Urdu language.While it tends to be dominated by poetry, especially the verse forms of the ghazal (غزل) and nazm (نظم), it has expanded into other styles of writing, including that of the short story, or afsana (افسانہ).
He started his career by writing short stories for children and then wrote his first novel in 1973. He is the author of the highest number of novels (his 773rd novel is published by Atlantis Publications in April 2011) by any author in any language throughout the world.
