The Thomas J. Flippin House, also known as the Clatskanie Castle or simply The Castle by some [1] and the Flippin Castle by others, [2] is a 14-room, shingle-style Queen Anne structure in Clatskanie, Oregon. The house was commissioned in 1898 by Thomas J. Flippin, son of Oregon pioneers and founder of the West Oregon Lumber Company.
Clatskanie (/ ˈ k l æ t s k ɪ n aɪ / ⓘ) is a city in Columbia County, Oregon, United States. It was named for the Tlatskanai Native American tribe, and the Clatskanie River which flows through the town and empties into the Columbia River about four miles to the north.
