Super Dirt Week is now the largest economic event for Oswego, New York as more than 30,000 fans attend. [6] Racing rules may be adjusted as necessary, and in 2023 new pit stop strategies were introduced allowing teams to remain on the track while others pit to improve their cars.
Asphalt racing was on the weekly schedule until 1978. The track was reopened as a 3/8 mile dirt oval in 1979. [4] in July 1998, Harvey, Joan, and David Fink purchased the track. Since 2009, the track, along with the Brewerton Speedway, has been owned by John and Laura Wight. [5] The Wights previously owned the Can-Am Speedway.
The track closed in 2006 and remained idle through 2007. Fred Graf Racing, LLC, purchased the speedway, and it reopened under new ownership bearing the Bethel Motor Speedway name on August 9, 2008. Dave and Joanne Rocket, who promoted races at the speedway from 1998 until 2004, returned as promoters under the new owner.

The track also hosts the annual Eastern States Weekend, where dirt Modified, 358- Modified, and Sportsman drivers race their cars in 200 (modified), 150 (358s), and 50 lap races. The weekend usually falls in mid-October. This is the end of the racing season for most regulars at the track.
