I think this is probably the most simple explanation that I found on google 😂. "Wuxia novels are telling a story about the life of a martial hero (martial arts), Xianxia novel is telling a story about an immortal hero (immortal cultivator), and xuanhuan novel is telling a story of the hero in a fantasy world." Makes sense.
Xianxia (仙侠) is relatively new. It's supposed to be similar to wuxia (wuxia was first considered as its own genre, and several xianxia elements are also taken from wuxia).
