The Morris Children's Museum was founded in 1913 as a collection of curio cabinets held in the Neighborhood House School in Morristown, New Jersey. In 1922, the Neighborhood House expanded to include an abandoned macaroni factory next to the original school. The Children's Museum continued to grow, eventually taking up two rooms of the factory.
The house was built c. 1760 along King's Highway (now Morris Street) on the eastern edge of what was then the small village of Morristown. [5] In 1765, Dr. Jabez Campfield, a young doctor from Newark, bought the house when he moved to Morristown with his new wife, Sarah Ward, to establish his medical practice. [6]
The museum has three exhibit rooms and a sales area. A video production, Morristown: Where America Survived (New Jersey Network, 2009) is shown.
