Following is a list of dams and reservoirs in Kentucky. All major dams are linked below. The National Inventory of Dams defines any "major dam" as being 50 feet (15 m) tall with a storage capacity of at least 5,000 acre-feet (6,200,000 m 3 ), or of any height with a storage capacity of 25,000 acre-feet (31,000,000 m 3 ).

These are stratigraphic or core tests, water supply wells, water disposal wells, water or gas injection wells, sulfur wells, underground storage wells, geothermal wells, or prospect tests. Exempt numbers range in value from 95001 to 99999.

Sulphur Well is named for a vein of mineral water a local landowner discovered while drilling for salt before the American Civil War. The landowner then began operating a hotel near the mineral well, and a village grew up in the area. By 1878, the community had a school, and a post office was established on July 30, 1879.
