High quality images of maps. Map of the British Empire at its height in the 20th century [4500 x 2234] Cool map. A couple of inaccuracies though: British dominance in the Levant and Arabia was even more complete - aside from Lebanon and Syria (under French control) and Saudi Arabia (independent) most of the area was under British control ...
With British guidance, the Russian Empire is reformed into a constitutional monarchy and federation of states, mimicking the British Imperial Federation. The regions granted statehood are depicted on my map as follows: Russia, Finland, Baltica, Caucasia, Kazakhstan. These due to their historic independence and differing ethnicity/cultures.
A map of India 23 years before the British took over. The British would have to fight 4 wars (against the Maratha Empire and the Kingdom of Mysore) before India comes under their rule. British rule in India lasts from 1818 to 1947. My 1876 dated Mk. II Martini-Henry and one of my military prints.
UNITED STATES OF JAPAN!!! Map of Holy Britannian Empire (2010 A.T.B. or 1955 A.D.) from Code Geass. This map is based on what I saw in the anime and some information from Code Geass Wiki. Reuploaded this as an image.

If you consider the transfer of Hong Kong to be the end of the Empire then it was even longer. Turns out two incredibly expensive world wars can do that to even the strongest empires.
Also, using this map that isn't detailed enough to show most of the Caribbean is not optimal if you want to show the british empire. Everyone knows about the big ones. The full extend of the empire can be shown better, if you also include all the small islands and countries around the world that used to be held by the British.
By 1936, the map of the British Empire looks like this. This is when the empire at its peak. During the WW2 years (1939-1945), Britain loses colonies including Irak, Persia and Libya. Between 1945 and 1960, Britain loses India, Egypt, Canada, Australia, Austrochina, Palestine, Arabia, South Africa, Nigeria, Gold Coast, and Malaya Between 1960 ...
Could just as well be a glorious British Empire propaganda map. Well, the Nazis were kind of contradictory in that sense. Prior to the start of the war, Hitler often praised the British Empire and saw it as a natural model for the Third Reich's colonial ambitions. One of his favourite films was The Lives of a Bengal Lancer, because it depicted ...
Like first of all, a lot of areas that are solid red on this map have also been disputed between either by different colonial powers or by the local peoples. Additionally, although the area as a whole was disputed, Britain had a commanding control of many areas of the PNW that America never touched, such as Vancouver Island.
iantsai1974. •. No. In China only Hongkong Island and Kowloon penesula were ever part of British Empire. The New Territories of Hongkong and other leased territories in other cities like Shanghai, Hankou, Weihaiwei, etc. were just leased lands, not British territories. Reply reply. SuicidalGuidedog.
