While driving all lights flickered it stalled then went on fire. It was a total loss. I put down 15,000 and paid over 15,000 in financing payments thus far. There was a smell like gasoline and Nissan said there was no problem when there clearly was . I've reached out to Nissan and got nowhere. My kids were in the car, we all could have died.

On my way to bring it back to the dealership my brakes completely stopped working. Thankfully I was able to roll to a stop on the side of the road just to find that the caliber on the back left brake completely fell off the rotor. Unfortunately Nissan uses defective JATCO CVT transmissions in some of their vehicles which are junk and often blow before 100K. They have been the subject of at least one class action lawsuit. Two things with a Nissan, don't drive it once transmission is out warranty, and service the transmission at 30k.
After some help on the Frontier FB Group it was made clear that Nissan never installed a breather. Fluid was just leaking out of the differential itself through whatever defects in the housing it could heat through. 2022 Nissan Frontier, 27,800 miles on it. Both Nissan dealerships are quite a bit away from me, no loaner cars available.
