The Doveton Boys’ School was established in 1855, followed by the Doveton Girls’ School in 1856 and came into the present building in 1888. The Bishop Corrie High School, founded in 1836 amalgamated with Doveton Protestant College on 1 January 1928 bringing about another change to Doveton Corrie.
The school can accommodate 400 girls from kindergarten to tenth grade. The school is aimed to provide education and training in traditional skill sets such as artistry, weaving, embroidery for women. Rajkumari Ratnavati Girls School is owned and managed by CITTA India, [2] and was designed by Diana Kellogg Architects.
The school was started by Gujarat Vernacular Society in 1892. [1] [2] [3] It was named as RB Ranchhodlal Chhotalal Girls High School, after the chief donor, the textile-mill pioneer of Gujarat, Rao Bahadur Seth Ranchhodlal Chhotalal [1] [2] It was not only the first girls school of the town but also of Gujarat.

It is one of the oldest girls' schools in Mumbai. [3] The school reached its 150th anniversary in 2013 and started its sesquicentennial celebration 1 September 2012. The year-long celebration included issuing of a special postal cover, an inter-school festival, reunion of alumni and releasing school souvenir in April 2013. [4]
