    But, SK!Machete and Gritty!Machete are also two different personas. Like the TMNT franchise. Same character shells, different takes on personalities. The Spy Kids Mission Critical reboot is an AU, yes, but at least it was confirmed to actually be part of the Spy Kids franchise. I'm not so sure about Machete being an "official" spinoff of Spy Kids.
