Scott Base is a New Zealand Antarctic research station at Pram Point on Ross Island near Mount Erebus in New Zealand's Ross Dependency territorial claim. It was named in honour of Captain Robert Falcon Scott , RN , leader of two British expeditions to the Ross Sea area of Antarctica.

Scott Base was established on Pram Point by New Zealand in 1957 as a permanent base supporting scientific researchers who visit Antarctica in the summer. The area under roof is about 4,000 square metres (43,000 sq ft). [6] Discovery Hut was built on Hut Point during the British National Antarctic Expedition 1901-1904 (Discovery Expedition).
