The African Campaign is a board wargame published by the Australian game company Jedko Games in 1973 that simulates the North African Campaign during World War II.The game design was based on Avalon Hill's popular wargame Afrika Korps, but Avalon Hill recognized some improvements had been made to the game, and became the North American distributor of Jedko games including this one.
The Campaign for North Africa has been called the longest board game ever produced, with estimates that a full game would take 1,500 hours to complete. Measured by playable grid units, the player(s) can choose a map that is small (48 x 32), medium (96 x 64), or large (124 x 96). The top and sides of the map do not 'wrap around ', i.e., units cannot transit the edges to go from the right to the left side of the map, the top to the bottom of the map, or vice versa.
Conquest: Frontier Wars is a real-time strategy game released in 2001 by Ubi Soft and developed by Fever Pitch Studios. The player controls one of 6 different nations (five European and the High Natives) in their attempt to colonize and conquer a "new" continent. The game is turn-based, and combat is a mini-game taking place on a 3x4 square battlefield where victory can be achieved by killing all enemy troops or capturing the enemy's flag.
