MV Isle of Lewis is a ro-ro ferry operated by Caledonian MacBrayne between Oban and Castlebay, Barra.Built in 1995, she remains one of only three ships in the CalMac fleet over 100 metres (328 ft) in length; the others, Loch Seaforth, being longer by almost 15 metres and Glen Sannox being just over 1 metre longer.
Oban station is located next to Oban ferry terminal. Caledonian MacBrayne ferries sail daily from here to the islands of Lismore , Colonsay , Coll , Tiree , to Craignure on Mull , to Castlebay on Barra and to Lochboisdale (winter only) on South Uist .
Entering service in 1989 on the Coll / Tiree and Barra / South Uist routes from Oban, MV Lord of the Isles combined two previous timetables. This freed up both Columba (1964) and Claymore (1978) and allowed a cascade to take place within the fleet.

The Islay ferry Finlaggan was chosen as Hebrides' replacement at Uig, Lochmaddy and Tarbert from 1 December. In December 2012, Hebrides relieved Isle of Mull on the Oban to Craignure and Colonsay services, as well as running extra services to Coll, Tiree, Barra and South Uist over the festive season.
