Bio2Watt Malmesbury Thermal Power Station is a 4.8 MW (6,400 hp) biogas-fired thermal power plant under development in South Africa. Bio2Watt, a South African company, entirely owned by Black women, has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) to supply 4.8 megawatts of electricity to South African Breweries (SAB) for use in their brewery near Cape Town.
Koeberg Nuclear Power Station is a nuclear power station in South Africa and was the first one built on the African continent. It is located 30 km north of Cape Town, near Melkbosstrand on the west coast. It is owned and operated by the country's state-owned electricity public utility, Eskom.
The Steenbras Power Station and the scheme's lower reservoir are situated on the lower slopes of the mountain at an altitude of approximately 100 metres, close to the town of Gordon's Bay and 50 kilometres (30 mi) to the south-east of central Cape Town. A series of tunnels connects the upper reservoir to the power station.

The Roggeveld Wind Power Station is an operational 147 MW (197,000 hp) wind power plant in South Africa.The power station, which began commercial operations in March 2022, was originally developed by G7 Renewable Energies between 2009 and 2015 and thereafter by Red Rocket (formerly known as Building Energy) who owns and operates the project.
The Ankerlig plant was built at the same time as the Gourikwa Power Station at a combined cost of R3.5 billion and was opened on 1 October 2007 by Deputy President Mlambo-Ngcuka. [2] The plant is located close to the R27 just north of Atlantis in the Western Cape .
The Palmiet Pumped Storage Scheme consists of two 200 megawatts (270,000 hp) turbine units located 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) upstream of the Kogelberg Dam on the Palmiet River near Cape Town, South Africa. [2] The pumped-storage hydroelectricity plant is capable of responding to a surge in peak power demand in minutes. [3]
