Llywelyn was the second of the four sons of Gruffudd ap Llywelyn ap Iorwerth, the eldest son of Llywelyn ab Iorwerth, and Senana ferch Caradog, [1] [2] the daughter of Caradoc ap Thomas ap Rhodri, Lord of Anglesey.
