The Sri Palee Campus of the University of Colombo is located in Wewala, Horana. Established in 1996 it conducts courses in the field of performing arts and mass media. It was established by a notification of the Sri Lanka government gazette (Extraordinary ) No 928/1 dated June 20, 1996.

The faculty of medicine of the University of Kelaniya is situated on a 35-acre campus at Ragama city. The North Colombo Teaching hospital is the main teaching hospital, and is situated next to the campus premises. University clinical departments have wards in the hospital. The faculty has an open-air theatre, a multi-purpose court and a gymnasium.
