Review: "Very unsatisfied" We've had this roof for 5 years now. Began blistering after a couple of years. It has lost so much grit, which we find in our gutters, that the color of the roof has gone from an attractive heather to any unattractive redial color. Just waiting for the next hail storm so we can replace. Buyer beware of this company.
Review: "Outstanding Shingle" The introduction of GAF Timberline HDz Shingles, by 5 Star Roofing & Restoration, Elkridge, MD, served the needs of the resident owners outstandingly with the replacement of the existing roof due to storm damages.
Review: "Decra Protects in CA 47 Years; FL 15 Years" We give Decra Tile roofing the highest rating possible. Our California home passed rigid home sale inspection after 45 years (still looked like new). We replaced our Florida two year old concrete tile roof almost 15 years ago after a hurricane. Neither roof has ever leaked.
Review: "Deception at every turn. RUN" Close to 60000 on a new roof that's junk. Trevor Thompson ( CertainTeed rep) stated cracked shingles were within spec . Roof was less than a week old. Material was deformed from the very day they were installed. Got serious run around with no results. Claim within first year was denied.
Review: "Shingles losing granules after 8 years." I have Owens Corning Duration Lifetime Warranty Shingles that are losing the granules after only 8 years. Many of the shingles are down to the fiberglass matt. About 80% of the shingles have some granular deterioration.
Review: "Do not trust warranty from BP shingles" We installed a large roof of BP organic shingles, and within 5 years it was starting to fall apart. We ultimately had to replace the roof after 12 years of use.
Review: "20 Years on a 50 Year Warranty" Paid $50,000 for a metal shingle roof with a 50 year warranty in 2003. Started experiencing leaking problems in 2021. Filed a warranty claim with Tamko, which was denied because shingles were "installed improperly."
Compared to oc or gaf - these pabco Premier (30/40/50 year shingles) weigh much more (on the 30 years 260 lbs per square vs. The others 226 lbs per square). They lay and look great on the roofs - much better coverage.
Consider the relentless cost waste for a shingle roof over time. My roofer said because I have no air circulation under the one part of the building, the shingles will fail in 10 years. The cost for this job on a small roof was $8,000.00.
