Lee Jin-ki (Korean: 이진기; Korean pronunciation: ; born December 14, 1989), better known by his stage name Onew, [1] is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and actor. Born in Gwangmyeong , Gyeonggi-do , Onew was discovered at the 2006 SM Academy Casting and signed a contract with SM Entertainment the day after his audition.

In November 2018, SM Entertainment announced that Onew would be enlisting in the Korean military as part of his required military duties. [2] On November 22, the label announced that Onew would be the fourth Shinee member to make a solo debut, with plans to release the album ahead of his enlistment in early December.
