The initial section of SR 210 has a very long history in Tucson. Called the Barraza-Aviation Highway, all but the last few miles were completed in the 1990s. The high school was founded in 1986 in rented space at Christ Community Church, with 23 9th- and 10th-grade students and seven faculty members.
