William Peter Rabon (born July 6, 1951) is a Republican member of the North Carolina State Senate, and a veterinarian. [1] He is the Chairman of the Rules and Operations of the Senate committee, the Select Committee on Nominations, and the Finance Committee. [2] Rabon has degrees from North Carolina State University and the University of Georgia.
He eventually moved to North Carolina, where he was appointed research associate in the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University. He started a doctoral research program in the Department of Population Health and Pathobiology. [2] His research considered the epidemiology of multi-drug resistant Salmonella. [3]
The endowment was established by gifts from the North Carolina Minority Veterinarians Association and matched funds from the R.B. Terry Charitable Foundation. [17] The North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine, which sorts its faculty, staff, and students into four houses to support college well-being, has a house named after Webb. [18]
