In 2015, the St Finian's Diocesan crest was removed and replaced with a secular logo with the inclusion of a textbook. Mass from St Finian's on St Patrick's Day 2016, was broadcast on RTE, with the participation form the school staff and pupils, choirs and musicians. [8] Rev. As Parnell was popular, this caused a backlash which eventually led to the cathedral removing to Mullingar, County Westmeath permanently. The diocesan school, St. Finian's College also moved to Mullingar from Navan. The diocesan cathedral is Christ the King Cathedral, Mullingar, situated near the town centre.

St Finian's College, Navan St Patrick's Seminary, Maynooth Michael O'Farrell (7 April 1865 in Milhow, Mullingar , County Westmeath , Ireland – 4 April 1928 in Orange, New South Wales ), an Australian suffragan bishop , was the fourth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Bathurst , New South Wales.
Irishtown is a townland in Mullingar in County Westmeath, Ireland. [1] [2] The townland is located to the north of the town, to the south of Lough Owel. St Finian's College stands on the townland. [3]
