TV Derana is the first channel that hosted a reality show for children in Sri Lanka. The first season was named as Derana Star in a Minute [14] and the rest of the seasons as Derana Little Star. In 2005 another major television channel came into action under the name Derana which now has multiple broadcasting platforms including radio, printed media, and a fully dedicated news channel called adaderana24X7.
