So I have my iPad that is now cracked. Pictures are below. The iPad was dropped from about mid body/underarm and slide and roll off of me. It fell onto asphalt while it had a Smart Cover on and a sleeve on it. I would just get the glass fixed but the body is chipped too. This is the sleeve. Screen works fine and overall damage.
For most models of iPad - and all models of iPad Pro - the screen is a single laminated assembly consisting of the cover glass, digitiser, LCD and backlight assembly. For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification.
If your iPad has a paid, AppleCare+ warranty plan, the replacement iPad ( in lieu of an actual repair/replacement ) will be a small fee ( used to be $49 U.S.D. this may have changed ). If NO paid AppleCare+ warranty plan, the replacement iPad ( in lieu an actual screen replacement will be expensive, costing, at least, 50% of the original Apple ...
If no AppleCare+, then a replacement iPad will cost you an out of warranty cost of 60% of the iPad Pro's original price. I would NOT recommend any screen replacement from any non-Apple authorised repair center as if something goes wrong with the repair, more than likely, you forfeit any help here or any help from Apple/Apple stores.
Besides the glass providing a significant hazard from cuts and physical injury, the Liquid Crystal within the screen can leak - and is a skin irritant. As for repair, the iPad is so old that parts are unlikely to be available for repair - and even if available, the cost would be uneconomic.
Without this benefit, screen repair is charged at Apple’s standard flat-rate for the iPad model: iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support. For practical purposes, your own iPad is unlikely to be repaired and returned to you. Instead, in lieu of repair, the iPad will be exchanged for a renewed/reconditioned iPad of the same model and specification.
Hello, everyone. I have a few scratches on my iPad Pro and was wondering if there’s a way to fix the scratches that doesn’t involve replacing it with a new iPad Pro. I do have AppleCare+, but I’m looking for alternatives without resorting to sending away my iPad pro. And my iPad Pro has a liquid armour screen protector on it.
Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad. As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here: iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support
Hi, my iPad 2 slipped last night while I had it plugged in to charge and a corner of the glass chipped. I've had it for over a year so I don't think there is any warreny coverage left on it. So if I tried one of the 3rd party vendors to get the glass fixed, and this voids any warranty, is there anything TO void? Just trying to understand my ...
