After designing a couple backstraps for the 43x and 48 I decided to give the 43 some attention. Like many others, my hands are too large for the small frame of the 43, so I went ahead and designed a beavertail that eliminates slide bite and gives me a little more material to grip onto for an overall better grip.
That being said the 43 is phenomenal for what it is. It is not designed to be a duty gun like the 19, 17 etc are. It’s designed as a single stack carry everywhere concealed type of gun. It gets a bad rep because the 365 came out soon after it did and spanked it on capacity. This lead to Glock doing the 43x platform. The 43 is a my favorite ...
Just purchased a Glock 43 to replace my 43X. I had my 43X for a week and my last visit to the range made me decide to go with the 43. The 43 fit my hand better and I am very pleased after firing 150 rounds at my local range yesterday. Being tall with big hands I had made the assumption that I needed the 43X.
My Glock 43 is loaded with standard pressure 147gr Federal HST. Accurate and very manageable. That same round is loaded in any size 9mm I may carry for serious business. I choose the 147gr HST not so much for recoil but for excellent terminal performance especially out of shorter barrels. Bill

The Glock 43 was the best gun ever designed in that size category. Until the P365 came along. I ended up selling the G43 two months ago, after having it just a month or two. I held the G43 and the P365 the night I bought the G43, and my old love of Glocks prevailed. I realized, a month later, that I really wanted the P365, so I went back and ...
Glock 43 with Taran Tactical +2 bottom versus Glock 43X. The 43X/48 is a tad bit wider. Long Live the ...
A comment was made about finishes. The 43 too new to have the old shiny finish. If it's intended for carry, sure, add the steel sights. Preferably night sites. Whatever your favorite brand should be fine. I don't accessorize my carry guns beyond that. I'm not a fan of grip extensions, but the 43 will come with two magazines.
