Pigcasso was a female pig (Sus domesticus) born in April 2016 [2] [3] [a] on an industrialised pig farm in the Winelands region of the Western Cape, South Africa.Along with her sister Rosie, [3] she was rescued from a slaughterhouse, in May, by Joanne Lefson and taken to Farm Sanctuary SA in Franschhoek, the nonprofit animal sanctuary that Lefson founded that year.
