Chisholm Public Schools is a public school district located in Enid, Oklahoma. District enrollment was approximately 900 students in the 2005–2006 school year. [1] It consists of Chisholm Elementary School, Chisholm Middle School, and Chisholm High School.
Construction on the Stride Bank Center began in May 2011. [2] The building was designed by Convergence Design [3] and constructed by Key Construction [4] as part of the Enid Renaissance project, a $24 million project which included the renovation of Convention Hall and the addition of 1,100 additional parking spaces in the downtown area. The Enid Library merged with the Garfield County Library in 1960. [5] By the late 1950s the library system had outgrown the Carnegie library, storing 60,000 books in a facility that was built to hold 20,000 books, [ 6 ] and the building itself was falling into desrepair as the oldest government building in the city. [ 7 ]
Enid's first courthouse opened on April 1, 1896. It consisted of a two-story brick building, which the County soon outgrew. Enid's second courthouse was built by O.A. Campbell of Oklahoma City in 1907 from Oklahoma granite and Indiana stone. The building was located in the center of Broadway, surrounded by sidewalks, and fully landscaped.
