Thermostat is below the inlet manifold at the rear of the car on the left hand side/Drivers side, access is the problem, it can be done with the injection manifold in place but working blind at times as there is not a lot of room, I personallly always remove the manifold to make access easy for the cost of a inlet manifold gasket, the manifold is only held on with about 8 13mm nuts.

Whilst it is certainly worth searching for both, the list price of the genuine Land Rover bagged part is about double the price of a genuine MG Rover packaged item from XPart, and I have rarely found genuine plugs (the ones stamped with the NLP100290 part number on the plug)'riced higher than the Land Rover marked part.
Recently the 'clamour' on mg-rover.org, as well as other Rover forums, for a 75/ZT owners club to be established has been steadily growing. Clearly both the 75 and ZT have a very loyal following
