Victor Louis Goines (born August 6, 1961) is a jazz saxophonist and clarinetist who has served as president and chief executive officer of Jazz St. Louis since September 2022. From 2000 to 2007, he was director of the jazz program at Juilliard .
In the 1990s, St. Louis area band Uncle Tupelo blended punk, rock, and country-influenced music styles with raucous performances and became pioneers of alt-country. Both St. Louis and Kansas City also have active hip-hop scenes; Tech N9ne was born in Kansas City and Eminem in St. Joseph, and Nelly and the St. Lunatics got their start in St. Louis.

Physical Therapy is a jazz fusion band from St. Louis, Missouri, which featured members, Terrance "Terry" Coleman, Michael Fitzgerald, Ben Monroe and Brian White.The group was active in the 1990s, and produced two albums under the Sweatshop Records label, the first being the self-titled Physical Therapy (1992), and the second work being a theme album called Casino (1997).
