Stover is located in western Morgan County at the intersection of Missouri routes 52 and 135. Versailles, the county seat, is 8 miles (13 km) to the east, and Cole Camp is 12 miles (19 km) to the west in adjacent Benton County. John Hubler Stover. John Hubler Stover (April 24, 1833 – October 27, 1889) was a U.S. Representative from Missouri. Born in Aaronsburg, Pennsylvania, Stover completed preparatory studies at Bellefonte Academy. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1857 and commenced practice in Bellefonte, Pennsylvania. Held several local offices.
The site is on Missouri Route FF. [2] History. A post office called Boyler's Mill was established in 1874, and remained in operation until 1922. [3]
After leaving US 65, Route 52 passes through Cole Camp, Stover, and Versailles where it has a concurrency with Route 5. It leaves Route 5 and then passes through Marvin, Barnett, and Eldon before crossing US 54. It passes through Tuscumbia then it crosses the Osage River with a concurrency with Route 17.
