The episode starts with Æon catching a fly with her eyelashes. It then cuts to a battle between Monican agents and Breen forces, with Æon liberally mowing down dozens of soldiers, apparently on a mission to assassinate a Breen official, though most of them are already sick and dying from a strange disease carried by an azure beetle.
Æon Flux (/ ˌ iː ɒ n ˈ f l ʌ k s /), is an American avant-garde science-fiction adventure animated television series, aired on MTV from November 30, 1991 until October 10, 1995, with a later film, comic-book and video-game adaptations. [2]
Selected segments from the series, including the debut of Æon Flux, were released on two VHS tapes in the late 1990s as The Best of Liquid Television. [ a ] A collection volume, Wet Shorts (The Best of Liquid Television) , with the content of the two VHS tapes, was released on DVD in 1997.
However, when the anime was picked up by Tokyopop and prepared for its 2003 release as Reign: The Conqueror, another dub was created. Still, Tokyopop retained the rights to the first four episodes of the series containing Fletcher's original dub, and used them for the first four episodes of the American release.
The episodes "Pilot" through "War" are standalone episodes broadcast as short films on the series Liquid Television. There is intentionally no continuity between the episodes (which all include the death of the Æon Flux character). Beginning with "Utopia or Deutoronopia" episodes are a half-hour in length and maintain a loose continuity.
