Farewell Concert is the live recording of the band Cream's final concert at the Royal Albert Hall on 26 November 1968. Aside from the band's reunion concert in 2005 it is Cream's only official full concert release on video. It was originally broadcast by the BBC on 5 January 1969. It was not released on video in the US until 1977.
The song was recorded during the sessions for Cream's third album, Wheels of Fire. [1] However, it was released on The Savage Seven soundtrack album [2] and as a single instead. Backed with "Pressed Rat and Warthog", [3] it reached number 64 on the American Billboard Hot 100 in May 1968 and number 40 on the UK Singles Chart in June 1968. [4]
In September 1968, it became a modest chart hit after being released in the UK. Cream performed "Sunshine of Your Love" regularly in concert and several live recordings have been issued, including on the Royal Albert Hall London May 2-3-5-6, 2005 reunion album and video.
