NVEDC (formerly called the Napa City/County Development Corporation) was formed in 1984 as a successor to the Napa Business Development Council. NVEDC's goals are to promote industrial and commercial business development, to create quality employment opportunities for Napa County residents, and to provide leadership on community issues.

Napa Junction is located on the California Northern Railroad (formerly the Southern Pacific Railroad), 7.5 miles (12.1 km) south-southeast of Napa. [2] The junction has connected the railroads of the California Coast Ranges north of San Francisco Bay to the national rail network since completion of the Santa Rosa and Carquinez Railroad in 1888.

[6] The Register moved to daily publication in 1872. George M. Francis became sole owner of the Register in 1878, upon the death of his business partner.
