A Belgian identity card (Dutch: Identiteitskaart, French: Carte d’identité, German: Personalausweis) is a national identity card issued to all citizens of Belgium aged 12 years old and above.
National identity cards are identity documents issued to citizens of most European Union and European Economic Area (EEA) member states, with the exception of Denmark and Ireland (which however issues an equivalent passport card).
The acronym IBZ comes from a mixture of its French and Dutch names, Intérieur Binnenlandse Zaken. The FPS Interior is responsible to the Federal Minister of the Interior, Institutional Reforms and Democratic Renewal, Annelies Verlinden , since October 2020.

The National Institute for Health and Disability Insurance (NIHDI) is a federal public body of social security in Belgium.Under the authority of the Belgian federal minister of Social Affairs and Public Health, it is responsible for administering the country's compulsory national schemes for health insurance and disability benefits, and manages a compensation fund for medical accidents.

The Arrondissement of Dendermonde was created in 1800 as the third arrondissement in the Department of Escaut (Dutch: Departement Schelde).It originally comprised the cantons of Aalst, Beveren, Dendermonde, Hamme, Lokeren, Sint-Gillis-Waas, Sint-Niklaas, Temse, Wetteren and Zele.
