Park Cities is a term used in reference to two communities in Dallas County, Texas – the Town of Highland Park and the City of University Park. The two municipalities, which share a border, are surrounded by the city of Dallas and comprise an enclave. As of the 2010 census, the Park Cities had a population of 31,632. [1] [2]

Society membership reached over 4,000 in 1940 and included U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt [5] and his Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes. At the 1942 APS convention, board member Donald Lybarger argued for the creation of a central office near the geographic center of the philatelic community, but not in a large city.
