Farm to Market Road 3398 (FM 3398) is located in northeastern Reeves County and western Ward County. FM 3398 begins at FM 1216 three miles (4.8 km) north of Pecos in Reeves County. [ 120 ] The two-lane road proceeds to the east and crosses the Pecos River before entering Ward County.
FM 272 was designated on June 11, 1945, to run from US 69 in Leonard east to the Fannin–Hunt county line near Hickory Creek. On June 25, 1945, another section from Hickory Creek southward to Celeste was created, creating a gap. On February 14, 1947, the road was extended east from the Fannin–Hunt county line to Hickory Creek, closing the gap.
