Along with fellow Demon Slayer Genya Shinazugawa, they strive to fight and protect the village from two attacking Upper Rank demons.

The Demon Slayers plan to behead the demons simultaneously but Daki engages Zenitsu and Inosuke, while Gyutaro fights Tengen and Tanjiro. Fighting as one, the demons gradually overwhelm their opponents, but Tanjiro, realizing his Water Breathing is more useful defensively, is able to fend off Gyutaro's attacks.
