This is a list of companies based in Oregon. Oregon is the ninth largest by area and the 27th most populous of the 50 United States. The gross domestic product (GDP) of Oregon in 2010 was $168.6 billion; it is the United States's 26th wealthiest state by GDP. The state's per capita personal income in 2010 was $44,447. [1]
Pioneer Place I, or The "Atrium Shops"/Zone A, opened in 1990 and was developed with assistance from the Portland Development Commission. [ 5 ] [ 6 ] Pioneer Place II, or The "Rotunda Shops"/Zone B, is located across Fourth Avenue to the east.
The area was wetlands in the 19th century when Peter Guild, an early settler, received it as a donation land claim in 1848. In the 1880s the Northern Pacific Railroad built the Guild's Lake Rail Yard, and rail switching facilities have ever since played an integral role in the area's development (along with US Highway 30, which runs alongside the tracks here).
Metzger is a census-designated place and unincorporated community, in Washington County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2020 census, the CDP population was 4,272. It is named for Herman Metzger, who platted the community. It is a suburb located within Portland, Oregon.
In 1995, SF Oregon Company (a subsidiary of Sanyo Finance Co. Ltd.) put the property up for sale with a listed price of $100 million. [6] In 1996, Knickerbocker Properties (owned by the New York State Teachers Retirement System) purchased Lincoln Center for $89.4 million. [12]
The sawmill was established in 1859 by John Halsey Jones and his father, Justus, and was the "first organized business" [8] [9] in what is now Cedar Mill. Plans for the mill, which was located on the south side of Cornell Road at McDaniel Road (now N.W. 119th Avenue), were established as early as 1855 by the 23-year old Jones. [ 10 ]
