The Dubai Sheema Classic is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Arab Emirates open to thoroughbreds which are four-years-old or above. It is run over a distance of 2,400 metres (approximately 1 + 1 ⁄ 2 miles; 2410 metres since 2010) on the turf track at Meydan Racecourse, Dubai, and it takes place annually during the Dubai World Cup Night in March.

Dubai Meydan City is a new development under construction in the Ras Al Khor area of Dubai, UAE. The project was launched on the eve of the 2007 Dubai World Cup . The entire development will cover more than 40,000,000 square feet (3,700,000 m 2 ) GFA (gross floor area) on a land size of around 15,000,000 square feet (1,400,000 m 2 ).

It operated from November through March and featured the Dubai International Racing Carnival and its Dubai World Cup Night. Nad Al Sheba Racecourse was demolished in 2009 following hosting the Dubai World Cup race, being replaced by Meydan Racecourse.
The Blue Point Sprint formerly Meydan Sprint, is a horse race run over a distance of 1,000 metres (five furlongs) on turf in February at Meydan Racecourse in Dubai. It was first contested in 2012. The Meydan Sprint became a Listed race in 2013. The race was elevated to Group 3 level in 2013 and became a Group 2 event in 2019.
