    No, I wasn't thinking of writing a tome here :) I agree it should be a key. Here's how I am thinking about it - please let me know where you differ. The IPA key is largely used as an assist to pronounce Hindi-Urdu words by non-native speakers and non-speakers. When these words are pronounced, they should sound right to native H-U ears.
