This is a list of kigo, which are words or phrases that are associated with a particular season in Japanese poetry.They provide an economy of expression that is especially valuable in the very short haiku, as well as the longer linked-verse forms renku and renga, to indicate the season referenced in the poem or stanza.
The poem begins with three sections describing the wind's effects upon earth, air, and ocean. In the last two sections, the poet speaks directly to the wind, asking for its power, to lift him up and make him its companion in its wanderings. The poem ends with an optimistic note which is that if winter days are here then spring is not very far.

The prose passages are a dramatic, energetic and often cryptic series of statements about the ways in which language can be renewed in such a way that it does not describe the world but recreates it.
The title (望 春風) literally means "Longing for the Spring Breeze". Bāng Chhun-hong was once adapted into a Japanese patriotic song as "Daichi wa maneku" (Japanese: 大地は招く), [3] literally means "The Mother Earth is Calling on You". It was re-written by Koshiji Shirou (越路詩郎) and sung by Kirishima Noboru (霧島昇).
