Vani Vilasa Sagara, popularly known as Mari Kanive is a dam in Hiriyur Taluk, Chitradurga District, in the Indian state of Karnataka. [1] It is located about 20 km east of Hiriyur, 55 km south of Chitradurga, and 180 km north-west of Bengaluru. Vani Vilasa Sagara was built by the Mysore Maharajas pre-independence across the river Vedavathi.
